This week, we are going to discover the heart of the church and what this church community looked like in the 1st Century. As we move forward, I want to encourage you to be open-minded and put aside what you know about the church. Whatever your belief or experience, I hope that you will see the church through the lens of Scripture! 

In this message, we will move into the New Testament and discover some important connections between Israel, Jesus, and the church, and how the church started and how people responded. 

It is vital that we as believers understand the church. Today, we must go back to the Old Testament to understand when and how the church started. We will discover the foundation and the roots of the church that we see explode in the New Testament.

Many people are taught that following Jesus and living for him is easy. The truth is following Jesus is the toughest pursuit that we will ever have! Everyday can be a constant battle with sin, submission to God, speaking truth, proclaiming the good news, and standing up to believers who live no different than the world. Following Jesus is not for the "faint of heart!"

When do we, as believers, forgive other believers who sin against us or hurt us? In this message, we will see the importance of true repentance when it comes to forgiving others. This changes everything!

In this message, Andre will address a common misconception or even a false belief that many Christians have about judging others. We will start in 1 Corinthians to see what Paul said about this, but most importantly, we will see what Jesus said. It might just surprise you!

It's our tendency to pick sides. Unfortunately, picking sides becomes dangerous when we choose to follow great Christian leaders over Jesus. It happened in the early church, and it happens today! In today's message, Andre will share the dangers of following anyone other than Jesus!

We live in a world that is easily offended but that must not keep us from speaking the truth in love, especially between Christians. This message is about the importance of not only speaking the truth, but receiving the truth!

In part 2, we will discover the characteristics of the false prophets, preachers, and teachers found in the New Testament, or under the new covenant. We must know their characteristics to protect us from being deceived.

Scripture tells us that there are false preachers and teachers. How can we tell between those called by God, and those who are not?
